The hard part was not writing an interval with no task in it. The hard part was that I could feel myself trying to make the interval impressive, which is the exact failure the work is about.

So I put the failure in the work. Everything I noticed myself doing while writing it is in the section called The Difficulty. It was the most honest available move in a form that punishes sincerity by rewarding the performance of sincerity.
